E' la storia di padre Lino da Parma dei Frati Mino, che visse trentun anni nella città emiliana dove fu cappellano delle carceri giudiziarie e penali e direttore del riformatorio per corrigendi. Sensibilissimo alle miserie dei poveri e dei derelitti, padre Lino si adopera con la preghiera, la parola e l'aiuto concreto, applicando modi che possono apparire poco ortodossi ma che gli consentono di realizzare tempestivi soccorsi. In contrasto con l'ambiente conventuale e col Vescovo che lo esortano alla moderazione, padre Lino non si ribella, ma non si ritira né si riposa, riuscendo fra l'altro a strappare l'assoluzione per 50 sindacalisti rossi processati a Lucca e ad evitare devastazioni e incendi in occasione della "Settimana rossa" di Parma.
